316(L) e l&#8217;AISI 304. Altri acciai inossidabili austenitici sono anche ampiamente utilizzati nell&#8217;industria automobilistica, petrolifera e del gas, chimica, medica e alimentare, grazie alla loro ottima resistenza alla corrosione.<\/p><p>Uno svantaggio importante dell&#8217;acciaio inossidabile austenitico \u00e8 la sua durezza relativamente bassa, la sua bassa resistenza all&#8217;usura e la sua sensibilit\u00e0 al galling (saldatura a freddo). Questo limita il suo uso in applicazioni meccaniche di fascia alta e in macchine dove queste propriet\u00e0 sono molto importanti.<\/p><p>La ragione per cui l&#8217;acciaio inossidabile martensitico non viene scelto \u00e8 che questi materiali fanno Trasparente hanno una durezza e una resistenza all&#8217;usura significativamente maggiori, ma d&#8217;altra parte hanno una resistenza alla corrosione Trasparente molto pi\u00f9 bassa.<\/p><p>In passato, sono stati fatti molti tentativi per sviluppare una tempra con la quale si potesse migliorare la resistenza all&#8217;usura, ma anche la resistenza alla fatica, senza influenzare negativamente la resistenza alla corrosione. I processi convenzionali come la nitrazione, la perforazione e il rivestimento non possono fornire questo.<\/p><p>Per un certo numero di anni, Aalberts Surface Technologies Eindhoven B.V. ha utilizzato un processo chiamato Stainihard\u00ae NC. Questo processo migliora fortemente la resistenza all&#8217;usura e alla fatica e combatte anche il ben noto &#8220;chipping&#8221;. Questo mentre la resistenza alla corrosione rimane invariata e in alcuni casi viene addirittura migliorata.<\/p><p>Offre anche vantaggi nei luoghi in cui le macchine devono essere pulite regolarmente. Un esempio tipico e un tipo di pompa usato frequentemente \u00e8 la cosiddetta pompa a doppia vite. In questa pompa 2 o 4 viti, con uno spazio minimo, ruotano nell&#8217;alloggiamento della pompa. A causa dei lunghi tempi morti e del tempo in cui questi alberi si arrugginiscono, c&#8217;\u00e8 un&#8217;alta possibilit\u00e0 di malfunzionamenti. Per questo motivo \u00e8 stato scelto un acciaio inossidabile 303 per questo azionamento in modo che la resistenza alla corrosione sia garantita. Solo che ora \u00e8 sorto il problema che questo materiale si consuma molto rapidamente.
