NC<\/strong> est un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 sp\u00e9cial permettant de durcir la surface de l\u2019acier inoxydable aust\u00e9nitique et duplex (RVS) sans compromettre sa r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la corrosion (r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la rouille). Dans certains cas, la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la corrosion est m\u00eame am\u00e9lior\u00e9e !<\/p><p><strong>Comment cela fonctionne-t-il ?<\/strong><br \/>Le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 repose sur la nitrocarburation en phase gazeuse, sp\u00e9cialement adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019inox.<br \/>Lors du proc\u00e9d\u00e9 Stainihard\u00ae, la surface de l\u2019acier est enrichie en atomes d\u2019azote et de carbone.<br \/>Cette diffusion a lieu \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature (inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 450\u00b0C).<br \/>Le r\u00e9sultat : une couche externe tr\u00e8s dure (1100\u20131400 HV0,05) sans perte de r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la corrosion.<br \/>La zone durcie est \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e \u00ab aust\u00e9nite expans\u00e9e \u00bb ou \u00ab phase S \u00bb. Lors du proc\u00e9d\u00e9 Stainihard\u00ae NC, ces atomes sont introduits en exc\u00e8s dans le r\u00e9seau cristallin de l\u2019acier inoxydable, ce qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re d\u2019importantes contraintes de compression. Cela entra\u00eene une augmentation significative de la duret\u00e9 de surface, sans alt\u00e9rer la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la corrosion du mat\u00e9riau de base.<\/p><p>L\u2019aspect unique du proc\u00e9d\u00e9 Stainihard\u00ae r\u00e9side dans le fait que la formation de nitrure de chrome (CrN) et de carbure de chrome (CrC) est supprim\u00e9e. Ainsi, le chrome reste dissous dans la matrice, ce qui est essentiel pour le maintien de la couche passive et donc de la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la corrosion.
